Kamel Shrek is a secondary level educator and currently teaches advanced mathematics at Laredo independent school district health and science magnet school. He has been an educator for the past twenty-one years. Upon graduating from Ali Waryeth high school, Kamel attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman, where he earned a B.S. in mathematics. He also earned a masters degree in business administration in international trade at Laredo state university. He completed postgraduate studies in secondary education for Texas teaching certification in mathematics and political science. He received gifted and talented training and attended numerous national and local workshops, conferences, and seminars.
He presided over several student and faculty organizations and clubs at his work and during college.
Kamel Shrek has earned various awards and nomination for excellence in teaching. He recently received the "Who's Who Among American Teachers" award. He also coordinated and implemented several programs, shows, and exhibits to showcase the culture and religion of the Libyan people and their achievements throughout the United States.
Kamel Shrek was born and raised in Adahra Tripoli, Libya and attended Adahra Elementary, Jama Amoora, and Ali Waryeth high school. He has been married to Emma Shrek for 22 years. They have four children: Fares; Yasmine, 2003 Tibra Achievement Award recipient; Adam; and Kareem.
